Watsan Mozambique is a major local organization specializing in the provision of water and sanitation (WASH) services in the Central region of Mozambique. Established in 2018, our dedicated and experienced team comes from international development, public health, financial management, and technical backgrounds.
Since 2018 Watsan has been at the forefront of WASH programs in Manica Province, supporting district efforts to make a difference. We have improved access to safe for water for approximately 400,000 people in villages and schools. The Mozambique Humanitarian Response Plan for 2021 cited water and sanitation facilities as inadequate and already over-stretched and is prioritizing the establishment of water points in the country.

Blessing Njopera is the founder of Watsan Mozambique . He holds a Bachelors Accounting Honors degree. He worked for an international non profit making organization in Mozambique , during his time there he discovered that more than 60 percent of people in remote rural areas have access to clean water to drink . He grew a passion to help the underprivileged . This drove him to open a non profit making organization that helped to provide clean and safe water for the people.
Passionate of working with vulnerable communities, with emphasis on children, youth and women. Holds a BA in Education and Masters in International Cooperation & Humanitarian Aid, with participation with various international prestigious fellowship programs as the Mandela Washington Fellowship and Community Solutions Programs. After working as an English Language teacher for 13 years, Majo decided to move to NGO sector, having his first assignment as Program Manager for Child Protection in Emergencies during the Cyclone Idai Response. Has worked for the UN as Protection Program Associate for Sofala province. In his free time, he enjoys travelling with his family and working on his farm.
Dr Rejoice Mazvirevesa Chipuriro (PhD) is a social scientist with 14 years’ experience in community development and coordination of research projects in the Southern Africa region. As a change agent, Rejoice is interested in addressing economic exclusion and food insecurity amongst vulnerable populations such as children and elderly women farmers. Her research covers agrarian transformation, livelihoods, gender, health and aging. She is keen on participatory research in addressing development challenges in Africa. Currently, she is a program officer at the Royal Norwegian Embassy where she is responsible for managing grants and political reporting on Zimbabwe and South Africa. She is an active member of the South African Social Service Profession.
A content stores and procurement officer with 3years experience of working alongside the management, logistics, technical and field teams. Responsible for effectiveness of operations, handling request, inspecting goods and overseeing safety of the organization. Evaluating suppliers, products and services and ensuring that approved purchases are cost-efficient and of high quality. A powerful force in the workplace and use positive attitude and tireless energy to encourage others to work hard and succeed. Inspired daily by core workers.
Seasoned experience in social and programs development, research and statistical analysis. With an extensive work experience in project coordination, monitoring, evaluations, accountability and learning as well as research designing, managing and implementing in various socio-development sectors mainly on Education, GBV, Child Protection, Health and Humanitarian Response thematic areas. An education background in Education Sciences and Sociology with a Bachelor Degree in Education Science and currently pursuing a Masters’ Degree in Sociology of Organizations. Over 7 years of working experience, conducting various studies and assessments, operational research, developing and implementing strategic and operational plans in Non-Governmental Organizations . In addition, providing technical assistance on Project Monitoring & Evaluation including development of MEAL framework and plans.
